Death's Handmaiden Cover Sequence

Probably the simplest postwork effect aside from touching up an image to remove poke-through or something is using layers and masks. Still, kind of fiddly, if you ask me. However, I figured I could do an interesting cover image by having the darker side of this character display as an image in a mirror.
Basically, the two images are put in as layers, foreground over background. Then a mask is created (using Select By Colour) to remove the mirror surface in the foreground layer and let the reflection in the background layer show through. Bingo! Dark version of the character shows through as the reflection of the lighter version.

This may get tweaked again before publication. Maybe the reflection should have a darker backdrop.
